Ferrets are carnivores, with a diet of meat only. - Male ferrets are known as hobs and female ferrets are called jills

- Commonly kept as house pets
- Spend 14–18 hours a day asleep and are most active around the hours of dawn and dusk, meaning they are crepuscular.
- Perform a “weasel was dance” when excited.
